What a turn out for being Mother's Day weekend. Congratulations to Dale Dowd & John Meyer for taking Flight 1 and to Kelly Pingel for taking Flight 2. Paul Jorgensen took the closest to the hole on #7 with a shot of 9'8". The great thing about big turn outs' is the potential for big skins!

REMINDER
This Sunday, May 19th is May's Monthly Masters which means FredEx Cup points are doubled. We hope to see you on the 1st tee box.
This will serve as a refresher to existing members along with new members on what to look for each week. Each week the results of the game and skins are posted below. For previous weeks' results visit the Silver Oak calendar where the results live forever.
New for 2013 is the FredEx Cup. This season long point event will be used to qualify for the NNGA 6-Man Team at the end of the season. For complete information and current point standings see below.
REMINDERS:
If you're a member, and don't have email, please check the Sunday Men's Club board in the clubhouse by the GHIN computer. All information sent via email is also posted on the Sunday Men's Club board.
When signing up for Sunday Men's Club play dates, please try and do so by Friday of that week. Any unused times will be opened up to the public Friday evening. Thank you!

2013 WEEKLY GAME
Each week a specific format is played. If there are less than 20 players in a given week, one flight will be used. Two flights will be used if there are more than 20 players. Flights will be divided by handicaps with same handicaps remaining in the same flight.

2013 OPTIONAL GROSS & NET SKINS GAME
On weeks' that have a "stroke play" format, players will have the option to get into the skins game. A gross (no hdcp. strokes) and a net (full hdcp. up to 18 strokes) skins game with the option to get into either or both.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How do i establish a handicap and GHIN number?
A: Simply by joining the SOMC you will be assigned a GHIN (golf handicap index number) by the club for the season.
Q: What is an index?
A: It is a representation of your ability. EVERY time you play, post your score. Once enough scores are in the system, an index number is given. This number is based on a calculation of selected scores and the slope and course rating of the particular golf courses you played.
Q: What is the NNGA 6-Man Team Event in the Fall?
A: This is a 2 day team competition amongst other Northern Nevada men's clubs. Each club qualifies players through their respective club events. The top six SOMC players, who meet the qualifying requirements, will represent Silver Oak Sunday Men's Club in the fall. The Sunday Men's Club sponsors the six qualifying members.
